French bulldogs don’t need a lot of exercise, but they don’t give up daily walks to keep them at a healthy weight. They don’t get along very well with the intense heat because they are brachycephalic. They need to be monitored on hot days to ensure that they do not dehydrate. Avoid walking or exercising in periods of very hot sun. The ideal would be in the early morning or at the end of the day. French bulldog likes to play and will spend a lot of time on various activities, but has less energy. They don’t need a big yard or long periods of exercise.
When training a Frenchie dog, take into account that they also have a will of their own. This means that they can be stubborn. Many different training techniques are successful with this breed, so don’t give up if a particular method doesn’t work. Try to make the training look like a game with lots of fun and prizes.
They are as good as a child
French bulldogs are very easy to care for – you just need an occasional brushing to keep their hair healthy. They don’t shed much. Start your dog’s body maintenance care when he is still young so he gets used to sitting on a table or on the floor while you or someone else does the work. You should also check ears, eyes and teeth for any signs of inflammation or a bad smell.
Clean ears regularly with a damp cloth and use a cotton swab around. If the edges of the ears are dry, apply mineral baby oil. The oil can also be used on the snout when it is dry. Nails need to be trimmed regularly. This prevents any kind of injury that can be painful for the dog. Keep facial wrinkles clean and dry to avoid bacterial infections. Whenever you bathe your Frenchie dog, take extra care and dry the skin completely between the folds.
Physical appearance –
With a compact structure and solid bones, the French bulldog has a very strong, wrinkled, wide and square head, with a flat skull, a pumped forehead and a very sharp stop. The short chamfer has concentric wrinkles. The redoubled snout has black nose and wide open nostrils. The eyes are dark, rounded and protruding. The ears are very erect. The forelimbs are short and thick straight. The legs are rounded and the tail is very short and implanted below.
