It’s very important to know the age of your roof. The reason it’s important to know the age of your roof is because every roof has a specific lifespan. The closer your roof comes to the end of it’s lifespan, the more roof problems you will notice. It’s important to replace your roof towards the end of its lifespan. If you keep your roof past it’s lifespan, your home will not be protected. Always get the best roof you can afford. This is not the time to try to save money.

Is Your Roof Balding or Changing Colors?

About once every month you should look at your roof and look for anything abnormal. Here’s a few things that should catch your attention:

  • Missing shingles
  • Missing tiles
  • Rusty spots
  • Green spots
  • Black spots
  • Curling shingles

All of the above are signs that you either need to get your roof repaired or replaced. So, get your roof inspected if you notice any abnormalities in your roof.

A damp attic is a probable sign of a water damaged roof. After all, how else is water going to get into your attic? Simply go into your attic and touch the wall and ceiling. If your notice any dampness, you need to call your roofer for an immediate inspection. Another sign of water damage is a musty odor in your attic.

Is Your Wallpaper or Paint Peeling?

Peeling wallpaper or peeling paint is a sign of water damage in your home. In most cases, the source of the water damage is from your roof. It’s definitely worth it to call your roofer to come by and inspect your roof.
